1. Introduction

Welcome to Khoala (“the App”).

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of the Service

Khoala is a mobile application that helps users organize and clean their photo and video gallery through a swipe-based interface.

The App allows users to:

  • Review photos and videos
  • Delete unwanted files
  • Keep selected files
  • Track cleanup progress

Core gallery processing is performed locally on the user’s device. Some features may require an optional auto-renewable subscription, as described below and in the App at the time of purchase.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree:

  • To use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not to misuse or attempt to interfere with the App’s functionality
  • To be responsible for any actions taken within the App

You are solely responsible for the files you choose to delete.

4. Data and Privacy

Khoala is designed with a local-first approach:

  • Photos and videos are processed on your device
  • We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers
  • Limited data related to advertising, purchases, and app functionality may be processed as described in our Privacy Policy

5. Permissions

The App may request access to:

  • Your photo and video gallery
  • Notifications (optional)

These permissions are required for the App to function properly. You may revoke them at any time through your device settings.

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Khoala may offer an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks premium features of the App. The features included, the length of each plan, and the price are shown in the App and on the App Store before you confirm a purchase. Prices may vary by region and are charged in the currency associated with your Apple ID.

Available plans include monthly, 6-month, and yearly subscriptions. A free trial may be offered. The trial length, if any, is displayed in the App before you confirm. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins and payment is charged to your Apple ID.

Payment and renewal (Apple)

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the cost of the renewal shown at purchase (or as later updated in the App Store).

Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Managing and canceling

You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your device settings: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, or as otherwise provided by Apple.

Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through your Apple ID settings to stop renewal.

Refunds, billing questions, and payment disputes are handled by Apple according to Apple’s terms and refund policies. Khoala does not process card payments directly and cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.

Purchases are non-transferable. Restoring purchases may be available in the App using the same Apple ID that was used to subscribe.

7. File Deletion Disclaimer

By using the App to delete files:

  • You acknowledge that deleted files may be permanently removed from your device
  • Khoala is not responsible for any accidental or unintended deletions
  • You are responsible for reviewing files before deleting them

8. Availability

We strive to provide a reliable experience, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be:

  • Available without interruption
  • Free of errors or bugs

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Khoala shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data or files
  • Any damages resulting from the use or inability to use the App
  • Any unintended actions taken within the App

10. Updates and Changes

We may update or modify these Terms of Service at any time.

Changes will be effective once posted. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if these terms are violated.
