1. Introduction

Khoala is designed to help users organize and clean their photo and video gallery quickly and efficiently.

Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data.

2. Data Collection

Khoala is built with a local-first approach.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal photos or videos to our servers. All media processing happens directly on your device.

The App uses third-party services that may collect limited data unrelated to your photo library, as described below. This includes advertising (Google AdMob) and in-app purchases / subscriptions (Apple and RevenueCat).

3. Access to Photos and Videos

The App requests access to your device’s gallery in order to:

  • Display your photos and videos
  • Allow you to review and delete files

All media processing happens entirely on your device.

Your photos and videos are never uploaded, stored, or shared externally.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

AdMob may collect certain information automatically, which may include:

  • Device identifiers (such as advertising ID)
  • Usage data
  • Diagnostic information

This data is used to provide non-personalized or personalized ads, depending on your device settings and permissions.

Tracking and Permissions

  • The App may request permission to track your activity across apps and websites using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
  • If you choose not to allow tracking, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Khoala may offer optional auto-renewable subscriptions and other in-app purchases through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. Khoala does not receive your full payment card number.

To activate, restore, and check subscription status, the App uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process limited purchase-related information, which can include:

  • An app user identifier (which may be anonymous)
  • Product identifiers (for example, monthly, 6-month, or yearly plans)
  • Transaction identifiers, purchase dates, and expiration or renewal status
  • Device or app information needed to validate the purchase

RevenueCat does not receive your photos or videos.

This information is used to unlock premium features, restore purchases, and prevent fraud or abuse of subscriptions.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

6. Notifications

The App may request permission to send notifications to:

  • Remind you to continue cleaning your gallery
  • Improve your experience

Notifications are generated locally on your device or through platform services.

You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.

7. Data Storage

The App stores limited data locally on your device, such as:

  • Cleanup progress
  • Number of deleted or kept files
  • Usage-related preferences
  • Subscription or purchase status needed to unlock features on the device

Local app data is stored using local storage (e.g., SQLite) and your photos never leave your device. Purchase records may also exist in your Apple account and in RevenueCat, as described above.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not share your photos or videos with third parties.

We share or allow processing of limited data only as needed to operate the App:

  • Google AdMob, for advertising, as described above
  • Apple, to process App Store payments and subscriptions
  • RevenueCat, to validate and manage subscription status

9. Security

Gallery processing happens locally on your device, so your photos remain under your control.

We do not maintain servers that store your personal photos. Purchase-related data may be stored by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own policies.

10. Your Control

You have control over your data:

  • You can revoke gallery access at any time
  • You can disable notifications
  • You can manage tracking permissions (ATT)
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions
  • You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data (this does not cancel an App Store subscription)

11. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be reflected in this document with an updated date.
